Shaggy frogfish (Antennarius hispidus). This fish, also known as the angler fish, is found in the Indo-Pacific region, usually in water deeper than 30 meters. Its camouflage hides it from both predators and prey. It hunts by remaining motionless for long periods, attracting smaller fish and crustaceans by wiggling a lure (white) on its forehead, before taking them with a rapid gulp. The shaggy frogfish can grow up to 20 centimetres in length. Photographed in Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
