Blue-eyed grass flowers (Sisyrinchium striatum). These flowers grow continuously, replacing the dead flowers. Young flowers are enclosed in spathe bracts (green, top). When the bracts open, the young flowers appear with twisted spiral tepals (purple), which untwist to form yellow flowers. This plant is a member of the Iris family.
