Time Zone map of the world. Map showing the Standard Time Zones of the world as of 2006. Countries, or areas of countries, are coloured according to zone. Each time zone is fifteen degrees of longitude apart. The zones are measured from Greenwich, England, which is at 0 degrees longitude. Each zone has a clock time one hour earlier than the zone immediately to its east. Some political and physical boundaries lead to irregularly-shaped zones. This map also shows country borders, capital cities (starred) and major cities.
