Dinosaur egg fossil. Oviraptor sp. dinosaur egg. Oviraptor was a small bird-like dinosaur that lived in Asia during the late Cretaceous period (about 85-70 million years ago). It is thought to have been omnivorous, feeding on plants and seeds as well as small vertebrates. Recently, it was found that Oviraptor was not an egg raider as previously thought, but very protective of its own eggs. Fossil found in Henan Province, China.
