Metalwork. Cutting fluid being pumped over the cutting site on a CNC (computer numerical control) lathe as it machines a metal component. The fluid cools and lubricates the cutting area and washes away the shavings. CNC lathes are controlled electronically. The design for the component is uploaded to the machine and used to control the cutting device.
