Ice Hotel. Corridor with rooms leading off it in the Ice Hotel, a hotel made entirely from snow and ice. It is the world's largest igloo, and lies within the Arctic Circle in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden. It is built every winter by spraying 30,000 tonnes of snow onto moulds which are removed once the snow has compacted. 10,000 tonnes of river ice are also used. The hotel sleeps over 100 guests on ice beds covered in animal pelts. Visitors remain warm in their sleeping bags despite temperatures that drop to -9 degrees Celsius. Guests can visit the ice exhibition hall, sauna, ice cinema or ice chapel, as well as drink from ice glasses in the ice bar. The hotel melts every May.
