A insseven-spotins ladybird beetle Coccinella septem- punctata, walking over white flowers of the camomile Anthemus plant. This beetle may play a role in pollination: yellow pollen grains are seen stuck to its legs. Coccinella septempunctata is some 7mm long, with short antennae, and despite its short legs it is a good runner and a voracious aphid hunter. Camomile is a plant on which it lays its eggs, under the leaves. Seven black spots are found on the bright red wing covers of the beetle. The red and black colour is a warning colouration to predators, because this ladybird is able to squirt distasteful fluids from its limb joints.
