Margherita Peak of Mount Stanley is the highest of the Rwenzori Mountain Range. The Rwenzori Mountain range is the only snow-covered range south of the Atlas Mountains in sub-Sahara Africa. It has a unique afro-montane vegetation due to a combination of altitude, high rainfall and almost constant cloud-cover with drenching mists.Tree Senecios, or Giant Groundels, a flowering Lobelia and everlasting flowers (helicrysum) can be seen in the foreground of this picture.
