Space Shuttle Columbia memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, USA. The memorial commemorates the seven crew members who died when the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated on re-entry on 1 February 2003. The memorial depicts the mission patch that was designed by the crew members, with their names and the mission number (STS-107) on an outline of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Below this is a tribute to the crew and the date of the disaster. The memorial, made from bronze and marble, was dedicated at a ceremony on 2 February 2002.
