MODEL RELEASED. Titration experiment. Student using digital weighing scales to measure the mass of citric acid crystals to be used in a titration experiment. Weighing the mass of the citric acid allows the amount present to be calculated. A burette will be used to measure the amount of alkali needed to neutralise the acid solution, with a chemical indicator showing when the reaction endpoint has been reached. The measured alkali volume will be compared to the known volume of acid, giving information on reaction chemistry and chemical concentrations.
