Marsh plants. Known locally as 'pozzines', these plants are marshy hill turfs that are native to the French Mediterranean island of Corsica. They are similar to the alpine meadows of Europe, and flower in the summer. They arise in sloping locations where the soil has poor drainage and the bedrock is acidic. Photographed near Lake Nino, a glacial lake in Corsica's Parc Naturel region.
