Humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) beak. This aggressive, predatory squid is also known as the jumbo squid and can swim in groups of more than 1200 individuals. It has a hard, sharp beak that is used to rip flesh apart when attacking prey or enemies. Photographed in Baja, Mexico.
