Reflection symmetries. Use of a mirror to demonstrate reflection symmetries. The word 'cricket' is shown in its normal orientation at bottom. This word can be rotated 180 degrees around three perpendicular axes to form the three versions seen above it. The first rotation (rotating in the plane of the paper) is around an axis passing downwards through the paper. The second rotation (equivalent to left-right mirror image reflection) is around an axis passing through the paper from top to bottom. The third rotation (equivalent to top-bottom mirror image reflection) is around an axis passing through the paper from left to right.
