Glacier terminus at its outflow into the sea, with a research boat (centre) dwarfed by the size of the ice cliffs. This is the Nordenskjold glacier, a large glacier that flows into Cumberland East Bay on the northern coast of South Georgia. It is named after the Swedish geologist and geographer Otto Nordenskjold, and was discovered by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition 1901-04, which Nordenskjold led with Carl Anton Larsen.
