MODEL RELEASED. Crematorium worker. The furnaces at crematoriums are designed to completely incinerate human bodies, including bone, and operate at very high temperatures (here, 850 degrees Celsius). Workers load the coffins into the furnace and later remove the ashes (using the pole held in the worker's hands). The workers wear protective clothing designed to protect them from the heat. This clothing includes heat-resistant padded gloves, reflective coats, and mirrored visors. Photographed in the Monumental Cemetery of Turin, Turin, Italy.
