Ransom Eli Olds (1864-1950), US car manufacturer. Olds founded his company, the Olds Motor Vehicle Company, in 1897. The company was brought by General Motors in 1908, but the Oldsmobile brand continued until 2004. Photograph published in 'The March of Commerce' (1927), volume 4 of 'The Pageant of America: A Pictorial History of the United States'. This was a 15-volume series that commemorated 150 years since the founding of the USA in 1776.
