The Drift River transfer station sits nestled by ice floe in the Cook Inlet. The Drift River terminal houses over six million gallons of oil. The Coast Guard, State of Alaska Dept. of Environmental Conservation(ADEC) and Cook Inlet Pipe Line Company established a unified command to work jointly on the problems facing the Drift River Terminal from eruptions from nearby Mount Redoubt.
