Three images taken over a decade (1996, 2001, and 2006) on the same day (Feb. 12) by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) using the Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT) 304 Angstrom instrument. The image in the middle is the Sun near its period of maximum of activity in its 11-year cycle.
