Newton's colour disc. Image 2 of 2. This piece of apparatus is used to demonstrate colour mixing. The disc, when stationary, comprises sections of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The disc is spun and, if the speed of rotation is fast enough, the various colours appear to blend and the disc is perceived by the brain to be white. See A200/376 for a stationary Newton's disc.
