Candles under white light. Image 2 of 2. The candles appear in their natural colours under white light. Colour is the result of an object reflecting and absorbing different parts of the visible (light) spectrum. Only reflected light contributes to an object's colour. When white light is present, all colours are available. The green candle reflects green light, the red candle reflects red light, the blue candle reflects blue light and the white candle reflects all the colours in the spectrum.
