Chips. Although not the most healthy of foods, fried chipped potatoes (chips) are a large part of many people's diets in the western world. Traditionally made by deep frying chipped potatoes in a vegetable oil, modern science has devised chips which may be cooked by oven-baking or even cooked in a microwave oven. In the UK, chips are most often served as an accompaniment to fried, battered fish or with hamburgers. The main dietary concern with this delicacy is the fat retained by the chips from the frying process.
