Asthma drug. Flixotide nebules, vessels containing a solution of the drug fluticasone propionate, used to treat asthma. The drug is inserted into a nebulizer before use. It is then applied as a fine spray through the nose and throat. Asthma is a condition which causes narrowing of tiny airways in the lungs, which become inflamed and lead to attacks of wheezing and breathlessness. Fluticasone propionate is a corticosteroid drug which acts as an anti- inflammatory agent. As it is delivered directly to inflamed tissue it works very quickly. This drug is manufactured by the Glaxo Wellcome company.
