This X-ray based technique is used to visualize blood flow in the coronary arteries, the arteries that supply the heart muscle with blood. To do this, a catheter is introduced through a vein in the groin & is manoeuvered up the body towards the heart using the digital X-ray system (on monitors at back). Once in position, a radio- opaque dye is injected, which outlines the arteries as dark ribbons on the image & reveals any stenosed (obstructed arteries).
