MODEL RELEASED. Mammovision with breast biopsy. A woman lies on a prone breast biopsy table, during breast screening by Fischer Mammovision/Mammotest. This technique biopsies breast lesions which have already been detected by mammography or clinical symptoms. The patient's breast protrudes through an aperture in the table. A digital X-ray camera provides real-time" images of the breast lesion, seen on the screen (at upper centre). Stereotactic needle biopsy equipment guided by computer and X- ray coordinates then fires a biopsy needle into the lesion to obtain a tissue sample for testing.
