Anti-epilepsy tablets. Epilim is a treatment for epilepsy. Each pill contains 500 milligrams of the drug sodium valproate. Epileptic seizures are caused by uncontrolled and excessive electrical activity in the brain. This drug reduces brain activity by increasing the amounts of the inhibitory neurotransmitter chemical GABA (gamma- aminobutyric acid) in the brain, preventing seizures.
