Fertility test. Male and female home-use Fertell fertility test kit. At bottom right is the wand used to test female fertility. It measures the amount of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in the woman's urine. FSH is an indicator of ovarian reserve, the higher the level of FSH the lower the number of eggs left in the ovaries. The male test is at centre. A sample of sperm is placed into the device and forced to swim through a barrier that mimics the female cervix. The number of sperm that are able to swim through the barrier is measured, giving the concentration of motile sperm, a marker of male fertility.
