Packaged condom. This barrier contraceptive is a latex sheath to be rolled over the erect penis before intercourse. It prevents transmission of sexual diseases and prevents unwanted pregnancies. It should not be used after the expiry date that is printed on the packaging, otherwise the condom may leak, allowing transmission of semen, and also of disease-causing pathogens.
