Retrieval of frozen bulls' sperm from a liquid nitrogen freezer, at a sperm bank located on a stud farm belonging to the National Dairy Development Board, Anand, Gujarat, India. The Board's various stud farms provide free high- quality sperm for artificial insemination to all its members, many of whom only own 1 or 2 beasts. A low-cost, 24 hour veterinary service, staffed by vets in radio-controlled jeeps, is also available. Members (many of whom are women) are brought to a stud farm & instructed in aspects of nutrition & insemination techniques.
