Highbury Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club from 1913-2006, aerial view. The stadium, officially called Arsenal Stadium, is located in Highbury, in the London Borough of Islington, UK. It is an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 38,500. This was considered too small for a club of Arsenal's stature, but the proximity of houses and roads meant the stadium could not be redeveloped. Arsenal FC built a new stadium, the Emirates Stadium, not far away at Ashburton Grove. This new stadium, with a capacity of 60,000, will be their home from the start of the 2006 season.
