Modem connector. The RJ-11 connector (upper left) links a computer modem to a telephone line, allowing it to access the internet. A modem (modulator demodulator) translates digital information from a computer into an analogue form that can be passed through existing communications cables, such as those of a telephone network. It also converts analogue data into a digital form.
