Virtual reality pool playing. View of a pool player lining up a shot using virtual reality goggles. A computer finds the best shot, and shows exactly how to hit it. The system also works for billiards and snooker. It uses a tiny camcorder on the player's goggles to send an image of the balls' positions to a small computer, here carried in a backpack. The computer projects two white lines onto the goggles, leading from the cue ball to the target ball, and from the target to the chosen pocket. If the cue ball is hit along the first white line, the target ball will follow the second line. This equipment was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
