Reva, India's first electric car, was launched in 2001 in Bangalore in southern India. A fully charged battery gives a driving range of 80 kilometres. Electric cars may be increasingly important in the future as the world's oil reserves become depleted. In addition, electric cars do not pollute the environment with exhaust fumes.
