A wide variety of situations can be simulated, ensuring the competence of the pilots before they fly a real plane. Here they are landing at Heathrow airport, UK. The controls are linked to a computer that provides realistic graphics and instrument readings depending on the pilots' actions. The simulator is mounted on six hydraulic legs to provide realistic movement.
