Metal cutting. Worker in protective clothing using an oxyacetylene cutting torch to cut through a steel structure. The metal is melted by the heat produced by the combustion of acetylene in oxygen. The glasses protect the worker's eyes from sparks, whilst his skin is protected from the heat by overalls, gloves, and a cloth wrapped around his face. Photographed at a ship-breaking yard in Taiwan. The steel obtained from the ship will be recycled.
