See here are the light trails made by the Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) of the telescope's instruments, and star trails through the dome's opened viewing slit. This telescope observes at optical and infrared wavelengths. It stands in an 11.1-metre diameter dome at an altitude of 2382 metres, making it the highest telescope on La Palma. The NOT is jointly operated by institutions in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
