Male helmet crab (Corystes cassivelaunus). This crab lives at a depth of 10-20 metres in the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and Adriatic Sea. Males of this species have longer and stronger claws than the females, which they use to fight rival males and to cling onto the female during coupling. The carapace (shell) of this specimen measures 4cm wide.
