Kinetographe operator. 19th-century artwork of a film-maker operating an early type of movie camera called a kinetographe. The resulting film was used in early projectors and viewing devices such as the Kinetoscope. This kinetographe is by Gabriel Kaiser of Paris, France. Artwork from the first volume (1897) of 'La Revue Scientifique et Industrielle' by French chemist and inventor Jules-Louis Breton (1872-1940).
