Liver in myelofibrosis. Gross specimen of a sectioned liver that has become enlarged (hepatomegaly) as a result of myelofibrosis of bone marrow. Myelofibrosis leads to bone marrow losing its ability to produce blood cells. This triggers other organs to produce blood components (haemopoiesis) to compensate, which leads to the organ's enlargement.
