Clifton Observatory and camera obscura. This viewing device is the protruding part at the top of the tower of Clifton Observatory, Bristol, UK. The camera obscura, which can be manually turned through 360 degrees, was installed in 1829 and is still in use. The building was originally a windmill until it burned down. Photographed in June 2013.
