This kind of LGA socket lakcs pins (unlike ZIF sockets), which prevent it from breaking. The CPU is placed on a bed of flexible pins, against which the lever gently presses the CPU. The golden tips of the pins are shown. The pin bed is designed to meet three purposes: improved flexibility, a smaller pin tip regarding its spacing on a diagonal pattern, and good contact due to the gold plating.
