Killer whale (Orcinus orca) group at the water's surface. This predatory dolphin is found in seas worldwide. It can reach lengths of over nine metres. The dorsal fin of the male may be almost two metres in height. It lives in groups of between two and forty individuals, hunting a wide variety of prey, including seals, fish, penguins, whales and other dolphins. This group includes a young killer whale at lower right with a damaged dorsal fin. Photographed in the Gulf of California.
