Stone Age arrowhead reconstruction. Close-up of an attempt to reconstruct what a Stone Age arrowhead would have looked like. Stone Age tools were made by working stone such as flint to produce sharp edges that were used as scrapers, knives and arrowheads. This reconstruction is by Serge Maury at Eyzies-de-Tayac, south-western France. Fossils and tools have been found here from a number of prehistoric cultures. Photographed in 1994.
