Radiation monitor testing. Radioactive laboratory forceps being used to test a radiation monitoring device. The forceps had been used to handle a radioactive source, and the monitor is being used to check whether it is free from contamination. The monitor is a form of Geiger-Muller tube. It is a Mini 900 EP15 ratemeter from the Thermo Electron Corporation (now Thermo Scientific). Photographed as part of work carried out by the UK's Health Protection Agency.
