Red karst limestone pinnacles. Karst landscapes are shaped by the erosion of layers of soluble rock such as limestone. Here, red and orange minerals colour the rock. Photographed in Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve, Madagascar. The reserve has a unique ecology and rare species of animals and plants. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
