Eusmilus were predatory carnivorous mammals that lived from around 40 to 7 million years ago, from the Middle Eocene to the Late Miocene epoch, in what is now North America, Europe and Asia. Palaeotherium was a horse-like perissodactyl (even-toed ungulate) that lived around 45 million years ago, during the early to mid Eocene epoch, in what is now Europe.
