SPACE: BLACK HOLE, 1994. /nA schematic diagram of the velocity measurements of a rotating disk of gas in the core of galaxy M87. The high velocities indicate the presence of a black hole, since the galaxy contains only a fraction of the number of stars that would create such a powerful attraction.
