WITCHCRAFT - SABBAT - DEMONS Woodcut depicting the many supposed activities of the witches at the Sabbat - top left a witch is falling from a transvecting goat, and to the right another witch is more successful in her flight. A crowd of witches dance around the hillocks, following a demon with lighted hands. Dominant, in the cenre, the Devil himself, in the shape of a goat, receives the osculum infamis, or the kiss on the buttocks, from one of his devotees. Around this Devil a group of musicians and Devils disport, some of the latter sexually attacking female witches. The black winged monster in the foreground is defecating into a cauldron, while alongside, a pan-like demon attacks a female witch with carnal intentions.
