Her father George was an engraver and miniaturist; and her sister Caroline painted portraits. Clarissa married the Rev. Milton Badger in 1828; and in 1848 published 鈥楩orget Me Not' with original watercolors; believed to be the prototype 鈥榃ild Flowers' (1859) with 22 lithographs and 鈥楩loral Belles' (1867) with 16 plates.
