Schlehdorf; Germany; St. Marcus in shrine. The former Augustinian monastery church was reconstructed in the 18th century; and a pair of skeletons of presumed martyrs from the Roman Catacombs may have been acquired for that renovation. They are still in situ; Marcus pictured here in an altar on the right of the nave; and Constantin (Constantius) opposite. They are identically decorated; with an unusual pink wrapping of cloth around the bones; and then jewels and pearls added. Photo 2012.
