This egg machine sells mushrooms. At 2 shillings a half pound sell like "hot cakes" in this egg machine. The grower, Mr D. F. Stay of Littlewood Farm, Singleton, Sussex, installed the machine near his farm gate on the Midhurst-Chichester Road. Just a little conversion to normal egg vending machine, plus a canopy to keep it cool, "and you can fill it and forget it" says the former. It holds 60 half pound bags and has to be filled twice daily. Previously someone had to attend to direct sales - but this releases the attendant - who is free to get on with the supplying of the general markets.
